Reflections / Actions: The Last 10 Days of Ramadan
By Linda Sarsour:
As we enter the last 10 nights of Ramadan, we at the MPower Change team wanted to share with you some of the ways we are putting our belief in justice into practice during these precious few days.
We’ve put together a list of actions you can take, donations you can make, and quotes from our shared Islamic tradition that we hope will inspire and add purpose to your practice as we close out the holy month.
Karim is a youth advocate, an uncle to five nieces and nephews, a brother to four siblings, and part of a large immigrant family and community who care for him deeply and have tirelessly fought for him to come home. Let’s fight alongside them.
Despite President Biden’s commitment to repeal Trump’s Muslim and African Bans, we’ve learned that tens of thousands of Diversity Visa recipients as well as Muslim and African families torn apart wont be allowed their fair shot at immigration. We have to make this right.

7. Become a MPower Changemaker with #MyMuslimVote.
#MyMuslimVote is a non-partisan voter education and civic engagement led by MPower Change with a coalition of Muslim organizations to register, motivate, and mobilize tens of thousands of U.S. Muslim voters in the general elections and beyond.
8. Support incarcerated Muslims in accessing materials needed for their spiritual practice.
Link Outside provides Islamic educational materials and books for inmates, mail correspondence, and helps facilitate in-person prison visits toincarcerated Muslims who rarely have visitors.
9. Tell Congress to pass the 4th Amendment Is Not For Sale Act!
You download an app to help you level a shelf in your home and within seconds the US military has access to your moment-to-moment location data. That’s scary but it gets worse: the military is also buying location data from apps that help Muslims find out which direction to pray. Senator Wyden just introduced a bill to stop this practice and others like it in its tracks. Now your Congress members need to support it and pass it.
** 10. Donate to MUHSEN — North America’s first organization serving Muslims with any disability. MUHSEN is dedicated to disability accessibility and inclusivity within Muslim communities. Donate to MUHSEN's programs and services that are building a better future where people with disabilities are not only accepted--but welcomed, valued, and empowered.
